THE AYURVEDA ALCHEMIST

WELCOME TO
THE AYURVEDA ALCHEMIST
“Using herbs to treat the underlying state, or foundation, of the body is the traditional approach of using herbs." - Vaidya Atreya Smith
As Ayurvedic practitioners, we use herbs in formulation to feed the body as part of the internal healing process. The traditional methods taught by the ancients of combing the whole or parts of plants forms a balanced formula which increases the potency but also safer to administer.
I am a purveyor of Ayurvedic herbal formulations, Master Blender and an Ayurvedic Practitioner. I can’t remember my life without herbs. My earliest memories of being guided by the gentle hands of my grandmother and mother. The traditions and knowledge being passed down through to me. My fondest memory of standing on a stool, in my mothers kitchen, both hands holding tightly the handle of a manual spice mill, turning with all my strength whilst my mother fed whole roasted spices into the hopper. It felt like an endless task but I was fascinated to watch the powdered results that came through. Little did I know that these were the foundations to Ayurvedic learning. I have been cooking since the age of seven and throughout the years have always blended herbs in the traditional way.
I began my own spice company in 2009, researching and blending traditional spice blends from the Indian sub-continent to Northern Africa and then across to South America. Writing recipes and producing home kits for people to make authentic healthy dishes at home.
In the years that followed I turned to my Ayurvedic roots to qualify in the UK 2020 as an Ayurvedic Practitioner. I see this as a life time of continuous study of ancient and western herbs to specialise in the art herbal formulations to aid in prevention, diagnosis and treatment.
My “dharma” purpose and calling, to share and bring my knowledge inherited of blending and combining herbs in both cooking methods and for medicinal purposes.
So I say “it’s never too late” to discover your “dharma”.

We provide tailored support and formulations for practitioners, rooted in the traditional Ayurvedic pharmacopeia - a system containing hundreds of herbal preparations, listings, and therapeutic applications.
Every formula is blended by hand, using whole herbs, fruits, roots, barks, and leaves - never isolates - to retain the full complexity of nature’s design.
This method preserves the plant’s natural oils and the six tastes (Rasas): sweet (madhura), sour (amla), salty (lavana), pungent (katu), bitter (tikta), and astringent (kashaya).
We also work with the twenty foundational qualities (vimshati guna) - hot, cold, heavy, light, wet, dry - ensuring every blend aligns with true Ayurvedic principles.
Sourcing and Integrity
Based in the spa town of Harrogate, North Yorkshire, we work exclusively with certified UK suppliers, using high-grade Ayurvedic herbs that are legally imported and sustainably sourced.
We do not use herbs from endangered lists - ensuring ethical practice and plant conservation.
Each batch is crafted with a focus on health, vitality, and rejuvenation, preserving the true potency of nature’s pharmacy.
